Adult Sail Training
Adults are invited to enroll in the SYC Sail Training Adult Programs. Whether your looking to formalize your sailing experiences, start from scratch, or just want to learn more, our instructors will be ready to teach you all the skills necessary to build confidence, or broaden your existing skills. Sailing is a sport to be enjoyed with others! Adults seeking family or mentoring recreational options, often participate in our Adult programs with older youth (16+).
Register early, as class sizes are limited.
2010 Options
In addition to our base program training in the fleet of ten 420 dinghies, we offer a keelboat training program (two C&C 24's). Customized individual weekday keelboat lessons are also an option (please contact our Program Director).
All levels of sailing are welcome whether you are sailing for the first time or wanting to improve your current skills. Evening classes run from 6pm-9pm, twice weekly, Tuesday's and Thursday's. There are two 4-week sessions (8 lessons/session), July 6-29 and August 3-26.
Dinghy - Recommended for those with little or no sailing experience, wishing to learn the fundamentals. With two students per boat, our dinghy program maximizes time spent helming. The first portion of the program is held within the confines of the SYC basin. As students progress, we migrate into the Lake.
Keelboat - Recommended for those who have completed previous dinghy classes, have some sailing experience, want to learn more about sailing in keelboats, or prefer to bypass the dinghy experience.
2010 Options
Team Building. Have you considered an afternoon of sailing as an
option for team building or recognition for outstanding
performance/attaining significant milestones or noteworthy
achievements? In 2010 we are offering customized weekday sessions
for organizations seeking team building or team recognition options
utilizing our two keelboats. Our Instructors & Program Director will
work directly with your coordinator to design a session to fulfill your
objectives (please contact our Program Director).
